Up for sale is a chopper forged out of X65Cr13 Stainless. This steel is similar in composition to AEB-L but is made by a different manufacturer. The blade features a belt ground finish with forging texture, convex bevel, slightly tapered tang, and a micarta handle with loveless style bolts. After forging the blade I did an annealing cycle to soften the steel and prepare it for hardening. The blade was plate quenched and then placed in a freezer to help reduce retained austenite and complete conversion to martensite. Tempering followed and then final testing and finishing up.
